• On 16th April 2014, AmeriCares India in its fifth Spirit of Humanity awards has declared Sanjivani Health and Relief Committee as winner of Spirit of Humanity Award 2014-category diabetes and awarded Certificate of Excellence, a trophy and a cheque of Rs. 1,00,000 (visit http://www.americaresindia.org/spirit-of-humanity-awards/ and click on Press Release)
  • AmeriCares India launched the Spirit of Humanity Awards in 2010 to recognize organizations and individuals making significant contribution towards the enhancement of the quality of life of under-privileged people in India.
  • More than 200 nominations were received for this year’s competition. All qualified nominations were reviewed by a screening committee consisting of individuals from the social sector and CSR teams from the corporate sector. The top three applicants in each category presented their work to a jury in a transparent, standardized format – all under the supervision of KPMG and finally selected the winner.
  • On 21st January 2014, a diabetic retinopathy detection camp was arranged with support from Novartis India with its latest Mobile Ophthalmic Screening Van at Sanjivani Arogya Kendra, our urban medical center, Ahmedabad. 102 patients were screened out of which about 17 were diagnosed with DR fundus. They are offered further workup at a charitable hospital at concessional rate. Three more camps in different villages and one more in the city of Ahmedabad are planned over next five days. Early diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy and immediate treatment can save one from possible blindness due to diabetic complication.
  • Medical Camp is organized fortnightly at Swaminarayan Gurukul Hansalpur Sokli about 55 kms from Ahmedabad near Viramgam which is popularly known as Diabetes Camp in the nearby villages. In this camp besides general healthcare, patients are tested for blood sugar and blood pressure. With ECG facilities in our Mobile Medical Van at the camp site, patients with heart problems are screened for ECG which is uploaded to the physician via internet and within 15 minutes his observations are made available to the patient and ECG report is given. In every camp more than 250 patients take medical help. All patients are provided with necessary medicines.
  • During the year 2012-13, 208391 beneficiaries took healthcare assistance from our mobile medical camps, 77806 patients were tested for hypertension, 55584 patients were tested for random blood sugar and 8815 patients were tested for fasting blood sugar.
  • On 1st Sept. 2013, a health checkup camp for factory workers of Vanguard Clothing Pvt. Ltd. Ahmedabad was organized with donation support from Mr. Sanjiv Sood. More than 300 persons were examined and guided for further treatment for eye sight, blood sugar, blood pressure and other medical problems.
  • Three Nodal Sanjivani Arogya Kendras started to provide medical care to patients of villages around the nodal village every fortnightly wherein patients from nearby villages come to the nodal village camp site. More than 200 patients take benefit of this service at each center every fortnight.
  • On 24th March 2013, a school health checkup camp at primary School at village Pethapur, Dist. Gandhinagar was organized with donation support from Mr. Jaydevbhai Desai, USA. 315 school children were examined for Eye sight and other medical problems.
  •   On 15th April 2013, Computer Education Center for poor school children has been started at founder president's bungalow to provide basic computer literacy to under privileged school children. The center was inaugurated by Shri Amit Shah, Ex-Mayor of Ahmedabad. Presently 30 students have been enrolled in four batches.
  • Invited by Director: Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation to participate in a videoconference link to the annual grantee summit organized by BMSF US programme for diabetes on 27th February 2013 at Atlanta, USA. We are the only participant of “Together on diabetes” (TOD ) project partners from India invited.
  • Was selected as a project partner for “Together on Diabetes” project by Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation in July 2012 and commenced activity of screening village patients for diabetes from 1st August 2012.
  • Thyroid Awareness Camp was organized on 22nd April 2013, in a public garden at Paldi, Ahmedabad educating people for symptoms of Thyroid and need for early diagnosis. Out of 147 patients screened, 6 new patients were identified having Hypothyroid and one new patient was identified with Hyperthyroid.
  • On 1st July 2012 Sanjivani Sanskar Dham was started to provide free education support to poor urban population.
  • On 22nd June 2012, Sanjivani’s President Dr. Pankaj Shah was awarded “Glory of Gujarat” award by worthy hands of H.H. Kamalaben, Governor of Gujarat.
  • On 9th April 2012, AmeriCaresIndia awarded Certificate of Merit under its Spirit of Humanity Awards, 2012 in recognition of SHRC’s outstanding contribution towards healthcare of society.
  • On 29th Feb. 2012 State Bank of India donated mobile telemedicine van.
  • On 8th May 2011 Sanjivani Arogya Kendra Urban and first tele medicine van were started.
